John H. Webb, M.D.

Background

Dr. John H. Webb, M.D. joined the Gastroenterology Associates of North Mississippi in 1994, shortly after it was founded. He attended the University of Mississippi where he graduated Cum Laude and earned a bachelor’s degree in Biological Science. He received his medical degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine where he excelled academically.

He received his internal medicine training and completed his residency at the prestigious Vanderbilt University. Dr. Webb then completed his gastroenterology fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina. His dedication to understanding every aspect of gastroenterology led him to acquire additional training about cognitive gastroenterology/hepatology, diagnostic and therapeutic EGD, colonoscopy, enteroscopy, capsular endoscopy, esophageal manometry, diagnostic and therapeutic ERCP, and liver disease evaluation and management. He has a special interest in the diagnosis and prevention of gastric and colon cancer utilizing his highly developed skills as an endoscopist and employing the latest cutting-edge equipment.

Dr. Webb is an integral part of the Oxford medical community, and he currently serves on the Board of Trustees for Baptist Memorial Hospital. He has also held positions as the Medicine Chairman and Executive Committee Member at Baptist Memorial Hospital.

When Dr. Webb is not practicing medicine, he enjoys spending time with his wife, two sons and daughter. He is a member of Oxford University United Methodist Church, where he has served as a Lay Leader and Stewardship Chairman and currently serves as a Lay delegate to the United Methodist – Mississippi Annual Conference.
