Background
Dr. Ernest Q. Williams, M.D. attended the University of Mississippi where his exemplary academic achievements led to him graduating Magna Cum Laude with bachelors degree in both Chemistry and Mathematics. He earned his medical degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine where he was the recipient of the J.T. and Mary Davis Medical Academic Scholarship.
Dr. Williams received extensive Internal Medicine training at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine where he completed his internship and residency. He was awarded the Outstanding Resident Teaching Award. He then progressed and completed his fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina.
Dr. Williams’ passion for gastroenterology led him to veraciously research many different areas inclusive of Sphincter of Oddi abnormalities, motility reactions to botox, Pruritus, systematic Lupus Erythematosus, and many more. His findings are hled in high regard and his research articles have been published in numerous journals.
He focuses on creating a patient specific treatment plan that utilizes cutting edge technology. His goal is to provide the best treatment in a caring, individualized and comfortable atmostphere.
When Dr. Williams is not practicing medicine, he enjoys spending time with his wife and four children. He also enjoys fishing, woodworking, golf, tennis and beer brewing. In the past, he took pleasure in serving as a Volunteer Staff Physician for the Good Samaritan Clinic from 2001 through 2008 and as an Advisory Board Member in 2007.
