Henry P. Johnson, M.D.

Background

Dr. Henry P. Johnson, M.D. is board certified in Gastroenterology. He received his B.A. from the University of Mississippi, where he received the prestigious Robert M Hearin Scholarship for exemplary academic achievement, and his medical degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine. Prior to entering medical school, Dr. Johnson worked in Neuro-Oncology while assisting at the University of Mississippi Department of Chemistry.

He completed his residency in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in gastroenterology at Wake Forest University. Dr. Johnson joined the Gastroenterology Associates of North Mississippi team in 2011 where he uses his extensive advanced training to offer state-of-the-art care.

His clinical interests span the entire breadth of gastroenterology and endoscopy, with a particular passion in pancreatic and biliary tract diseases in the elderly. He has published several original research articles along with book publications.

Dr. Johnson is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association, the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the American Board of Internal Medicine, and the American Board of Gastroenterology.

Since gastrointestinal disorders can create a great deal of worry, anxiety and discomfort, Dr. Johnson strives to provide top quality medical care in an efficient, patient friendly and compassionate environment. Utilizing the latest in technological advances and knowledge, he tailors his care to each patient’s condition and special needs.
