Dr. John H. Webb, M.D. joined Gastroenterology Associates of North Mississippi, now OneGI in 1994, shortly after it was founded. He attended the University of Mississippi where he graduated Cum Laude and earned a bachelor’s degree in Biological Science. He then received his medical degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine where he excelled academically.
Dr. Webb received his internal medicine training and completed his residency at the prestigious Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. He then completed his Gastroenterology Fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina. His dedication to understanding all aspects of gastroenterology led him to acquire additional training about cognitive gastroenterology/hepatology, diagnostic and therapeutic EGD, colonoscopy, enteroscopy, capsular endoscopy, esophageal manometry, and liver disease evaluation and management. He is a member of the ACG, ASGE, and has been Board certified in Gastroenterology since 1994.
Dr. Webb is an integral part of the Oxford medical community, having served on the Board of Trustees for Baptist Memorial Hospital for over 10 years. He has also held positions as Chair of the Department of Medicine and Executive Committee Member at Baptist Memorial Hospital. He currently holds staff positions at BMH-North Mississippi in Oxford, Mississippi, Panola Medical Center in Batesville, Mississippi, and at BMH-Union County in New Albany, Mississippi.
When Dr. Webb is not practicing medicine, he enjoys spending time with his family, working on his farm, fishing, duck hunting, and traveling with his wife, Melody. He is a member of Oxford University United Methodist Church, where he has served as Lay Leader, Stewardship Chairman and currently serves as vice-chairman of Church Council.
