Dr. David I. Bridgers III, M.D. is board certified in Gastroenterology. He received his B.A. from the University of Mississippi, where he was part of the Golden Key National Honor Society, and his medical degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine. He was the recipient of the prestigious West Mississippi Medical Auxiliary Scholarship which recognized his exemplary achievements.
He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in gastroenterology at Wake Forest University. Dr. Bridgers joined the Gastroenterology Associates of North Mississippi team in 2005 where he provides uncompromising care that is tailored to meet the individual needs of each patient.
Dr. Bridgers has been on the Credentialing Committee for North Mississippi Baptist Medical Center, a Committee Chairman for the North Mississippi Baptist Medical Center, and has been the President and a Board Member of the North Mississippi Physicians Association.
Dr. Bridgers’ experience and substantial educational background makes him one of the premiere gastroenterologists in Oxford. He has a strong interest in cutting edge diagnostic procedures for detecting esophageal cancer and has published articles regarding esophageal disorders, Adenocarcinoma and esophageal cancer.
Dr. Bridgers is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association, the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the American Board of Internal Medicine, and the American Board of Gastroenterology.
When Dr. Bridgers is not practicing medicine, he enjoys spending time with his wife and three children. He also like music, guitar, song writing, sports, hunting, fishing and reading. In the past, he has also taken part in a number of good causes, such as the “Tar Wars”, Fifth grade Anti-Tobacco Program, serving as Program Chairman for the Hoops for Kids Fraternity Service Project, the Very Special Arts for Children Program and many more.
