Dr. Kevin J. Batte is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Mississippi, where he was a member of Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and graduated cum laude. While attending the University of Mississippi Medical Center School of Medicine, he won the Carl Gustav Evers award, which is presented to a senior medical student who has demonstrated qualities of scholarship, peer-to-peer support, and exceptional leadership in student activities of the American Medical Association and the Mississippi State Medical Association. Prior to starting medical school, he assisted in emergency room procedures at Mississippi Baptist Hospital as an emergency room technician. He also worked at the University of Mississippi Medical Center as a poison information provider, where he assisted individuals and healthcare providers throughout the state in overdose, ingestion, and toxin exposure situation
Dr. Batte completed his residency in the Department of Internal Medicine and his fellowship in the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the Medical University of South Carolina. He joined the Gastroenterology Associates of North Mississippi team in 2020, where he uses his advanced knowledge of gastroenterology to provide top-notch care to patients.
Dr. Batte’s interest in gastroenterology goes beyond the clinic, as he has given several poster presentations on the topic and has a manuscript published in BMC Gastroenterology on Achalasia. He is a member of the American College of Physicians, American Medical Association, South Carolina Medical Association, American College of Gastroenterology, and American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
When Dr. Batte is not practicing medicine, he enjoys spending time with his wife and children, fishing and being outdoors, cooking, and spending time with friends and family. He has spent time volunteering with multiple organizations, such as Habitat for Humanity, where he helped build homes for families in the greater Jackson area, and the Jackson Free Clinic, where he participated in patient care in a student-led comprehensive care clinic for patients in Jackson, MS.
